While working a Halloween booth for the Y, we were raffling off a couple of skate board from a local shop. A couple of us grabbed one and threw on a design. It was the first time I'd actually worked with markers since I was a kid--let alone paint markers. It was kind of nice working on something other than paper or canvas.

It's been a long time since my last post...here I did a little project for a friend. The subject was not my original intention but the more I thought about it, the more it seemed fitting to do a pixie character for someone who resembles the spritish creature in looks and attitude.

I always wanted to do my sept. '08 post as an actual project, and so I finally buckled down and got it done. I experimented with the technique for this one applying a drawing onto a canvas and then painting over it.

I was listening to a podcast from Frank the Podcast, and one of the show hosts broke into a pseudo rap about a "fondue fonda panda bear." The tune was catchy enough, and I came up with a nonsensical picture for a nonsensical song from a nonsensical podcast show.

I promised an aunt of mine I'd do something for her that had dolphins. It took me awhile, but after giving myself a deadline, I came up with this little dilly. I dropped into photoshop and tinkered around with the coloration.

My Bible study leader asked me to come up with something based on Romans 12:1..."present your bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual worship." This here is a digital color study.

Wedding gifts are always interesting....should we go with a mug? a photo? gift cards? kitchen appliance? or how about a comic book?! A friend of mine asked me to morph his groomsmen into comic 'heroes'. These were the concepts I came up with....due to time I couldn't color them, but I will post 'em when I do.

A friend of mine asked if I'd ever attempted to draw the X-man character Nightcrawler...I hadn't and so I started sketching away. This was the pose I liked most and so like the Superman study, I decided to color it just to see how it would play out.

I've been a fan of comic art since I was a kid, but haven't really attempted my own stuff. So, here's a superman sketch I did the other night. Though I skipped the inking part, I thought I'd try adding color to it, just to see how it'd turn out.

Here are my favorite illustrations I did taken from Don Stanford's "Red Car." The first is a scene in which the main character is out for some early morning fishing while the other is him working on the car of his dreams in the garage. Each is done in charcoal.
